AVA Events For 2022: Register for SCGV, Bain Fallon, ASAV and more

The AVA Annual Conference was a huge success – and one of the highlights was being able to see people again. The AVA have more face-to-face conferences set for 2022 and beyond. They are great opportunities for education, but also to catch up with friends in the profession. Note that these events will not be recorded. 

Registrations are now open for events in June and July. AVA Member registration price is 50 percent of non member price. Registrations and accommodation are booking fast so be sure to book today. 

JUNE

Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians Conference (SCGV)

This event is about some very important big picture topics such as reproductive management of flocks, a focus on pain relief management, case reports on trace element toxicities and deficiencies, post bushfire management, insecticide resistance and is castration required for terminal lamb production. There is something of interest for all small ruminant and camelid veterinarians. 

As always, it will be a great opportunity to socialise and network with your colleagues. 

JULY

The Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures continues to be the biggest week of equine veterinary continuing education in the Southern Hemisphere. This year’s conference is shaping up to be just as successful with pre-conference ISELP and nerve block workshops, high quality lectures throughout the week and an equine veterinary nurses’ conference on Thursday.  We have assembled a range of world-class speakers to take an in-depth look at all that you need to know in equine respiratory and reproduction, and so much more.  

In celebration of 50 years of EVA the social events will be a week-long celebration, and provide the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues.

This year’s program on Emergency Medicine and Surgery will feature a star-studded cast of speakers, including Drs Chris Tan, Terry King, Rob Webster and Ellie Leister. We are shaking things up a bit, and also have streams from the Australian Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS), The Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians (UPAV) and the Australian Veterinary Behaviour Interest Group (AVBIG), together in  one program. The unique program together with a fantastic location will make this ASAV conference a truly unforgettable experience. 

The ASAV conference has always been about community, collegiality and connection and this year’s conference is no different, we have put together a great schedule of social events, like the welcome dinner, industry networking drinks, happy hour, the recent graduate dinner and our biggest night, the annual gala dinner and awards night.

Our next annual conference is being held from 28 May to 2 June 2023 in the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) which is one of the world’s most modern, flexible and technologically advanced venues.
