Australian Cattle Veterinarians (ACV) members provide crucial services to agricultural producers who feed the country.
They also play a key role in disease surveillance, securing our quarantine status and protecting ongoing productivity.
Members also have a significant responsibility in managing and maintaining animal welfare.
Membership to the ACV is open to all financial members of the AVA who have an interest in any type of cattle work.
The ACV is one of the AVA's largest special interest groups with over 1200 members across Australia. Members come from private practice, government departments (including agriculture and quarantine services), research, and chemical companies. Veterinary students are also encouraged to join.
Other continuing professional development member benefits include regular webinars, ad hoc regional events, plus clinical and client information resources as well as the cattle stream at the AVA national conference.
The Australian Cattle Veterinarians is managed by an annually elected committee of nine members.
The ACV also have representation on the Cattle Council of Australia (with whom we have an associate membership) and work closely with other cattle industry bodies.
