Physical Health

In your career, you will sometimes need to adjust to irregular rostered hours, late nights, and weekend work. This can make it difficult to exercise regularly, but it is important that you make time.

The many benefits of exercise are well documented. Physical activity has been shown to improve mood and brain power and has been used successfully to reduce depression and anxiety. Regular physical activity has the ability to promote quality of life and a sense of wellbeing.

It only takes 30 minutes a day to enjoy these benefits. To maintain health and reduce the risk of health problems, health professionals and researchers recommend at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, preferably all, days.

If you have relocated for your job, joining a local sporting team will connect you with the community, allow you to meet new friends and give you the physical exercise that you need.
